Raymond P. Cloud

President

Ray’s retail Loss Prevention experience spans over 20 years. Presently, Ray is the Vice President of Loss Prevention for Ross Stores, Inc. based in Pleasanton, CA.

Ray’s career began with the Target Division of Dayton Hudson’s, where he was promoted to District Assets Protection Manager in the market expansions of Chicago and Washington D.C. before serving four years as Regional Assets Protection Manager for the Hudson’s Division of Dayton Hudson’s (Marshall Field's). He then worked as Loss Prevention Divisional Director, Midwest Division, for Home Depot. Following his tenure at Home Depot he was the Group Assets Protection Team Leader, Midwest Region, for Target Corporation. Based in Chicago, Illinois, he led a field staff of several hundred Assets Protection professionals.

Dr. McMurray

First Vice President

Dr.  McMurray, Sr. is Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at North Carolina Central University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 from the University of Maryland, a Masters Degree in Urban Studies at Howard University and his doctorate degree in Criminal Justice at Rutgers University. A former Washington, D.C. police officer in the early 1970s, Dr. McMurray arrived at NCCU in August, 1987. His research areas include community policing, homeland security concerns, comparative/international criminal justice, and community change.

DuWayne Walker
Second Vice President

DuWayne is a Group Assets Protection Team Leader for Target Corporation. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he leads a team of Asset Protection professionals dedicated to proactively address areas of Diversity, Profitability and Guest experience by minimizing loss and providing safe and secure environments.

DuWayne joined Target in 2006 as a District Assets Protection Team Leader. In this role he focused on achieving results in following areas; budget, shortage, safeness and talent management. After 18 months in position DuWayne was promoted to his current responsibilities at the group level.

Ron Smith

Treasurer

 

Ron Smith is the Director of Loss Prevention for Aber-crombie & Fitch Western Zone.  He currently oversees the security operations for over 560 stores in the United States, Canada and Japan.  In this role, he is responsible for the supervision of a robust loss prevention staff, strategic planning, risk assessment and the implementation of loss prevention awareness programs and policies.

Mr. Smith’s career in the security industry spans over 18 years.  Prior experiences include: Senior Investigator for Pinkerton Consulting and Investigations, Corporate Investi-gator for Airborne Express and Territory Director of Loss Prevention for Kohl’s Department Stores. Mr. Smith spent 5 years collectively with Gap Inc. where he held the following positions; Regional Loss Prevention Manager for Old Navy, Manager of Corporate Security for Gap Inc. World Wide, and Senior Director of Loss Prevention for Old Navy stores.  His expertise includes strategic risk assessment, corporate investigations, executive protection and profit optimization.

Mr. Smith is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS), 8-Ball Bay Area Law Enforcement Liaison Group, past 1st Vice President and current Chief Financial Officer of the International Organization of Black Security Executives (IOBSE).

Terry Wilson

Financial Secretary

Terry Wilson is currently serving as District Security Director for Macy’s East in the “Michigan” market. Macy’s is a chain of mid-range American department stores. Its flagship store in Herald Square, New Your City has been billed as the “worlds largest store since 1924."

The company produces the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a well-known parade that has been held on the streets of New York City annually since 1924. Terry’s retail career spans over 20 years. Starting as a Security Detective with TJ Maxx. He then went on to work for Kohl’s department store as a Loss Prevention Manager in one of their most challenging location in the Mid-West. He then went on to work for Target stores as an Assets Protection Team Leader. Again he worked in two of the most challenging locations in the mid-west.

Venus Finley-Atkins

Parliamentarian

Venus Finley-Akins is the Director of Gap Brand Loss Prevention for the Western Zone. Venus joined Gap Inc. in 2002 as a Regional Loss Prevention Manager for Banana Republic in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has more than thirty years of retail Loss Prevention experience and has successfully led Loss Prevention initiatives and efforts at Mervyn’s, a former California based retailer. During her tenure, she has held positions of increased responsibility in Loss Prevention and Human Resources.

Venus is an active Volunteer in her Community, most notably at the Agnes Children’s Center in Oakland.

Fanchon Barnes
Secretary

As an Assets Protection Business Partner, Fanchon Barnes’ core role as a multi-district leader is to enhance profitability, the guest experience, and our reputation by minimizing loss and business disruptions and providing safe and secure environments.

She is responsible for recruiting, training, and developing team members; ensuring execution of job responsibilities, planning the business, managing team member and guest issues, managing the Assets Protection programs that keep stores safe for guests, team members, shareholders and communities; driving profitability by reducing stock shortages, monitoring stores’ readiness for inventory, and all theft and fraud investigations.
